Lower portion of Control Panel #1 from the Apollo 9 Lunar Module (LM-3, "Spider"), from the collection of Apollo Launch Director Walter Kapryan.

This illuminated panel was prepared for use in LM-3, and is in full flight-configuration (with aluminum heat-sinks on edges, as well as foil mnemonic stickers near some of the gauges).  It shows evidence of having been installed, but was obvioulsy removed at some point during checkout and testing.  

Manufacturing date and KSC acceptance stamps are all present on the reverse.  A handwritten label "LM-3 Control Panel #1" is also present on the back of the panel, embedded beneath the final resin coating.

This panel was acquired from the estate of Apollo Launch Director Walter Kapryan.  It comes with: 1) a copy of Karypan's post-Apollo business card; 2) a large-format sepia-tone photo of Kapryan which hung in his office at KSC; 3) and a statement of provenance attenting origin from the Kapryan Estate; and 4) comprehensive PDF summary of provenance, photo documentation, and research results.
