Russian Sokol ("Falcon") model GP-7A pressure suit glove for use with Sokol KV-2 spacesuit, custom fitted for Astronaut Ulf Merbold, with his initials (YM) in Cyrillic on the cuff.  Unflown training glove or flight spare.

The Sokol (Cокол) pressure suit is worn by cosmonauts during IVA (intra-vehicular activity) inside the Soyuz spacecraft during ascent and descent. Merbold was the European Space Agency's first astronaut, and the first "cosmonaut researcher." In 1994, he was the first ESA astronaut to fly into space with Russia on board Soyuz TM-20, returning to Earth on Soyuz TM-19. During his three spaceflights he spent a total of 49 days, 21 hours and 38 minutes on the Mir space station. He was also the first non-American to fly on the Shuttle (STS-42).

The Sokol KV-2, made by NPP Zvezda (НПП Звезда), was first used on the Soyuz T-2 mission in 1980. The Sokol is described by its makers as a rescue suit, and it is not capable of being used outside the spacecraft in a spacewalk or extra-vehicular activity. Instead, its purpose is to keep the wearer alive during launch and entry in the event of an accidental depressurization of the spacecraft.
